I am on the fence about the potential for Mary to be introduced in the BBC version. I am only just starting to read the ACD stories so I don’t know how she’s portrayed in canon, but I really quite enjoy Guy Ritchie’s portrayal of her. Not only is she a badass, it never felt like she was ~stealing~ Watson away from Holmes or anything. While she was sometimes put out by it, she did understand and accept the bond they shared…but in Sherlock, Mary would be coming around post-Reichenbach and might not ~get it~, you know?

Plus, I like John and Sherlock’s codependency, alright?! (As unhealthy as it may be, ha.)

Oh, I hope Mary is like the movie version, I love her! Can’t wait for her and Sherlock to meet :D
